Description: Lieutenant, Jumper Bailey’s job was taking airplanes to their breaking limit and beyond, often with catastrophic consequences. As a test pilot assigned to fly crates that had wings that could fold up at around nine Gs he had hit the silk nine times and lived—his parachute sometimes opening perilously close to Earth. Not wishing to tempt the fate that seemed to follow cats wherever they roamed, he was determined not to push his luck with number ten.
