December 20. An open gate to the Oscars for women and people of diverse backgrounds. 

19th Annual Dance Camera West Festival
Jan 9 - 11. The Festival is coming to RedCat in Downtown L.A.

19th Malibu Film Festival
Jan 10 - 11. Showcases the best in American and international cinema, with free outdoor screenings, parties, receptions and special events. 

Los Angeles Italia Film, Fashion and Art Fest
Feb 2 - 8. TCL Chinese 6 Theatres. One full week of celebration for the Italian excellences in cinema, music, fashion and style. 

4th Annual Los Angeles Dance Film Festival
Feb 8. The festival will be held at Downtown Independent.

The Hollywood Reel Independent Film Festival
Feb 12 - 24. Multiple venues, including Regal Cinemas. New feature films, documentaries, shorts and videos by film makers who possess an independent vision and create innovative work outside the studio system. 

The 28th Annual Pan African Film Festival
Feb 13 - 23. Cinemark 15 Baldwin Hills. Showcases the broad spectrum of Black creative works. 

The Hollywood International Diversity Film Festival
Feb 22 - 23. The Festival is coming to The Complex Hollywood


Pasadena International Film Festival
Mar 13 - 21. Laemmle Playhouse 7, 673 E Colorado Blvd, Pasadena. Showcases more than 100 entrants from 15+ countries including features, shorts, documentaries, music videos, animation and web series. Every film programming block ends with a moderated Q&A. 

LA Harbor International Film Festival
Mar 14-17. Warner Grand Theatre, 478 W. 6th Street, San Pedro. Showcasing film that reflects the harbor and all that it embraces - shipping and commerce, fishing, sailing, water sports, sea life and the area's rich ethnic and cultural influences - to create a cinematic bridge between the people of the region and the people of the world.

Mar 20 - 28. Laemmle's NoHo 7. A premiere event for independent cinema from all over the world. 

Los Angeles Women's International Film Festival
Mar 21-24.  LA Live Regal Cinemas. Now in its 15th year, the festival celebrates the cinematic achievements of women from the around the world.

Golden State Film Festival
Mar 22-28.  TCL Chinese 6 Theatres.  An opportunity for emerging independent filmmakers to showcase their talents. 

The Method Fest Independent Film Festival
Mar 22-28. Laemmle's Ahrya Fine Arts Theatre. 13th annual festival showcases outstanding acting performances in independent films.

Noir City: Hollywood
Mar 29 - Apr 7 at the American Cinematheque at the Egyptian Theatre.  The longest-running film noir festival celebrates its 20th anniversary with a slate of sinister cinema and a special appearance from author James Ellroy.  

Beverly Hills Film Festival
Apr 3-7. TCL Chinese 6 Theatres.  Now in its 19th year, the festival objective is to merge today's filmmaking pioneers with the wealth of cinematic heritage of Beverly Hills by edifying and developing the cinematic community and enhancing the impact of the arts.

Indian Film Festival Los Angeles
April 11-14. Regal L.A. LIVE: Showcasing films, supporting emerging filmmakers, and promoting the diverse perspectives of the Indian diaspora.   

TCM Classic Film Festival
April 11-14. TCL Chinese Theatre, The Egyptian Theater, and the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel. Where movie lovers from around the world can gather to experience classic movies as they were meant to be experienced: on the big screen, in some of the world's most iconic venues, with the people who made them. 

The Newport Beach Film Festival 
Apr 25-May 2 at multiple venues in Newport Beach. Bringing the best classic and contemporary filmmaking from around the world to Orange County. The 20th annual NBFF will be screening over 300 features and short films

Artemis Film Festival
Apr 25-28. Laemmle's Ahrya Fine Arts Theatre. The first film festival dedicated to honoring female action and empowerment heroes.

Hollywood Blvd Film Festival
Apr 26-28. The Complex Theatre. HBFF focuses on supporting new & emerging filmmakers so that they are inspired to keep telling amazing stories.

The Los Angeles Jewish Film Festival
May 1-8.  Location TBA.  Highlighting the diversity of the Jewish experience through film. 

South East European Film Festival
May 1-8. Writer's Guild Theater. Educates about and promotes cultural diversity of South East Europe through films from the region

Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival
May 2-10 at multiple venues. Since 1983, the LAAP Film Fest has presented nearly 4,000 films, videos and digital media works by Asian international and Asian Pacific American artists. 

Hollywood Women's Film Festival
Jun 13-18. Raleigh Studios, UCLA, and Dick Clark Productions. Empowering and celebrating women in film, television and media


Jul 18-28 at various venues, including the Ford Theatre. The oldest film festival in Los Angeles and the preeminent LGBTQ film festival in the world. 

Hollyshorts Film Festival
Aug 8-17. TCL Chinese 6 Theatres. Showcases the best and brightest short films from around the globe. Devoted to the advancement of filmmakers through screenings, Q&A sessions and networking events. Monthly screenings at the TCL Chinese 6.

6th Annual Long Beach Indie International Film Festival
Aug 28 - Sep 22. Cinemark at the Pike Theaters. More than just a film festival, the three-day event celebrates diversity in film, music, and media.

Cinecon 54 Classic Film Festival
Aug 29 -Sep 2. The Egyptian Theatre. Features rare, unusual and unjustly forgotten movies from the silent and early sound era with celebrity guests and film, book, and movie memorabilia shows. Silent films include live piano accompaniment. 

Burbank International Film Festival
Sep 4-8. AMC 16 Theater, Burbank. Over 100 films from 31 countries, 25 world premieres, 22 award categories and opening and closing night screenings.

Los Angeles Lift Off Film Festival
Sept 23-28. Raleigh Studios. Celebration of American and International Indie Film - a homage to the excellence of today's grassroots filmmaker.

City of Lights, City of Angels (COLCOA French Film Festival

20th Annual Polish Film Festival Los Angeles
Oct 16-24. Laemmle's NoHo and Royal Theatres. Presentation of films made by Polish filmmakers with English subtitles. Opportunities to meet with the filmmakers and actors.


City of Lights - City of Los Angeles French Film Festival
Sep 23-28. Directors Guild of America. The 22nd Annual festival will have an exclusive program of 70+ French Films this year.

Beyond Fest

19th Annual Polish Film Festival Los Angeles
Oct 17-25. Laemmle's NoHo and Royal Theatres. Presentation of films made by Polish filmmakers with English subtitles. Opportunities to meet with the filmmakers and actors.

German Currents 12th Annual Festival of German Film
Oct 19-22. Egyptian Theater. A varied selection of present-day German cinema includes features, documentary, and short films, as well as a family youth film. 

Animation is Film Festival
Oct 19-21. TCL Chinese Theater. A highly selective showcase of the best animated films from around the world, plus red carpet, filmmaker Q&As, special events, receptions, short film programs, VR Lounge, and both juried and audience awards.  

4th Annual Asian World Film Festival
Oct 24-Nov 1. Arclight Culver City. Considered the window to Asian world cinema, the film festival champions films from more than 50 countries across Asia, spanning from the eastern shores of the Mediterranean to Japan, and from Russia to China & India. 

22nd Annual ARPA Film Festival
Oct 25-27. Egyptian Theatre. The festival's mission is to cultivate cultural understanding and global empathy by creating a dynamic forum for international cinema. Three days of screenings of thought provoking films from many countries; plus music and food on select nights. 

18th Annual Valley Film Festival
Oct 31-Nov 4. Laemmle NoHo7. Furthering the education, production and distribution of filmmaking in the San Fernando Valley. 

American Film Market
Oct 31- Nov 7. AMC Santa Monica, Arclight Santa Monica, Broadway Cineplex, and Laemmle Monica Film Center. The film industry's largest international conference features over 500 screenings and premieres, plus conferences, writer's workshops, roundtables, and more. 

The Los Angeles Chinese Film Festival
Nov 1 - 4.  Downtown Independent.  The Los Angeles Chinese Film Festival aims to uncover and promote excellence in Chinese language and culture-focused films, and to foster cultural exchange through screenings and other other activities.  

Pembroke Taparelli Arts and Film Festival.

Red Nation Film Festival

32nd Israel Film Festival
Nov 6-20. Steve Tisch Cinema Center, Saban Theatre, Laemmle Ahrya Fine Arts Theatre, Laemmle Town Center, Encino. Devoted to shining a spotlight on Israel's thriving film and television industry. 

32nd Annual AFI Fest
Nov 8-15. TCL Chinese Theatre, Egyptian Theatre, and the Hollywood Roosevelt. International cinema from modern masters and emerging filmmakers. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences recognizes AFI FEST as a qualifying festival for the Live Action and Animated Short Film categories for the annual Academy Awards®. Free!
