The Long Gravel Road is a re-imagining of the Parsifal myth set in the present... A hermit turns into a beast while fetching the morning paper and fetching the morning paper is definitely much more than it seems in this endearing, original and unusual new production from Pergola Productions.
The Long Gravel Road is a dreamy, intriguing 5 minute solo show written and performed by talented actor Abbott Alexander with original music and sound design by gifted musician Garrett Parks now playing Saturday nights at Theatre West thru June 1. Both artists have deep roots with the company. Abbott Alexander is the son of Theatre West founding member actor Philip Alexander (The FBI), and Garrett Parks is the son of Theatre West founding member musical star Betty Garrett On The Town). There's a lot of talent in this collaboration.
The show is a featured selection of the theatre's "Then and Now Series". The very energetic and very candid Abbott Alexander is a great story teller/performer and The Long Gravel Road is an imaginative, poetic, funny, poignant and thought provoking dreamy journey full of surprising twists and turns. In short, Abbott Alexander's highly original The Long Gravel Road is eclectic, eccentric and often electric so be sure to check it out on it's limited run.
The Long Gravel Road is produced by Linda Pace Alexander and Pergola Productions with imaginative lighting design by Yancy Dunham. Theatre West is located at 3333 Cahuenga Boulevard West. Tickets are $25. Call the box office at (323) 851 7977 for more information or visit www.theatrewest.org/the-long-gravel-road.
