WRITE OF SPRING - One Act Festival 2024

In a world of seasons, a collection of five stories on the theme of Spring take us on a journey of the tales of rebirth, renewal and renaissance where love is the underlying force. These stories reflect on life - as a journey through experiences, viewing them through humor, fantasy, and emotions.

We navigate through five one act plays brought forth by 5 writers, 5 directors, and 10 actors. A fun collaboration through 'A Side of Karma' by Jorge A. Pulido, 'Burn and Rave' by Thomas J. Misuraca, 'Velma and Manny' by Rochelle Perry, 'Love in Flight' by Susan C. Hunter, and 'Spring Fever' a musical by Darrin Yalacki and Tomek Fior, with varying degrees of excitement and aspects of sentiment give us moments of laughter and joy deeply explored in each one of them.

The actors Oraldo Austin, Leticia Carrasco, Taylor Dam, Dorian Frankel, Mary Nakanishi, Shawn Plunkett, Yvette Price, Matt Roussel, Courtney South, Adam Wasser, and Annie Zhang take full advantage of the material. They all do need to be mindful of the challenge of the air-conditioning in the lovely space of Brickhouse Theatre so that the audience can hear them properly.

The World Premiere of 'Write of Spring' is produced by John Lant, Darrin Yalacki, Susan Eiden and Anne Mesa with Co-Producer Jonathan Harrison. The acts are skillfully directed by Alicia Marie Agramonte, Susan Eiden, Roxie Lee, Anne Mesa, and Darrin Yalacki.

Write Act Repertory provides membership-based artists the opportunity to produce and create original scripts, 'lesser-known works by established writers, adaptations of classical-themed materials and musicals,' and with that they create a positive artistic and educational impact within the community.
