UMI brings a serene, soulful, and deeply introspective presence to Blue Note Los Angeles, offering an evening shaped by tenderness, healing, and quiet musical beauty. A singer, songwriter, and sonic healer, UMI creates genre-defying music that blends R&B, neo-soul, folk, and pop into a sound that feels warm, calming, and emotionally open. Raised in Seattle in a multicultural and musically inclined family, she began sharing acoustic songs and covers while still in high school, gradually building a devoted audience drawn to her reflective lyrics and gentle sense of connection.

Her album People Stories marks a particularly personal chapter in her artistry, exploring ego, healing, identity, and human connection through songs inspired by loved ones, fans, strangers, and her own life experiences. The project embraces vulnerability, even leaving in sonic imperfections as part of its tribute to life’s complexity and beauty. In a live setting, UMI’s music invites audiences into a soft but powerful atmosphere, where soulful melodies and reflective storytelling create space for stillness, growth, and shared emotion.
