Hollywood in Miniature

Hollywood Heritage invites guests inside its Preservation Resource Center for a rare look at Hollywood in Miniature, a remarkable vintage model created by woodworker Joe Pellkofer in the 1930s. Once designed to travel around the country as a miniature representation of Hollywood, the model preserves a tiny vision of the famed movie capital from an earlier era.

Art conservator Donna Williams will discuss the model’s origins and restoration, while Hollywood Heritage co-founder Fran Offenhauser adds context about the organization’s decades of work protecting Hollywood’s historic core. A highlight comes when the lights are dimmed and the miniature Hollywood is illuminated, revealing its streets and landmarks in dramatic detail.
