The Peterson Show

Janine Nabers’ The Peterson Show receives its world premiere at Echo Theater Company, bringing five former child stars back together as the legacy of their once-beloved television father collapses into scandal. With reporters and cameras gathering outside, the performers are forced to confront old rivalries, buried secrets, and the complicated bonds they formed while growing up together on one of America’s favorite sitcoms.

Directed by Michelle Bossy, the play uses comedy and family tension to examine celebrity, memory, childhood fame, and what happens when a cultural patriarch is suddenly erased from the story everyone thought they knew. The production runs through October 26, 2026, with performances Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00PM, Sundays at 4:00PM, and Mondays at 8:00PM for Pay-What-You-Will performances, plus additional Thursday performances on October 1 and 2 at 8:00PM. Select performances also feature post-show conversations with guests including Issa Rae, Yvette Nicole Brown, Tracie Thoms, Lena Waithe, Prentice Penny, and Robin Thede.
