Oliver Lee Jackson: Form Follows Feeling

Lisson Gallery presents Oliver Lee Jackson: Form Follows Feeling, its first Los Angeles exhibition with the Oakland-based painter, sculptor, and printmaker. Spanning several decades of Jackson’s practice, the presentation brings together paintings with marble and mixed-media sculptures, highlighting the human figure as the recurring structure around which his compositions are built.

The exhibition also gives special attention to Jackson’s sculptural practice, including forms begun years or even decades ago and recently brought to completion through combinations of stone, wood, fabric, graphite, and other materials. Across both painting and sculpture, figures emerge, recede, compress, and seem to move through shifting fields of color and matter, creating a powerful balance between clarity and ambiguity. The exhibition remains on view through November 7, 2026.
