Todd Gray: Church and State

Los Angeles artist Todd Gray presents Church and State, an exhibition rooted in his longstanding exploration of photography, sculpture, diaspora, power, and cultural memory. Working between Los Angeles and Ghana, Gray examines the connections between Western hegemony and West Africa while drawing attention to the ways images carry histories of identity, colonialism, race, and representation.

Gray’s practice often brings photographs into sculptural arrangements that complicate how individual images are read, encouraging viewers to consider what is visible, what is obscured, and how histories overlap. The exhibition remains on view through January 16, 2027.
