Ghost Songs

November 2 @ 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Set only a few decades after Shakespeare’s lifetime, Ghost Songs follows Cat, a teenage girl raised in a strict Puritan household, whose world changes when a trunk filled with forbidden play manuscripts arrives in her home. With the help of her worldly housemaid Agnes, Cat discovers the romance, poetry, drama, and possibility contained in Shakespeare’s words—art that England’s new religious order considers dangerous enough to destroy.

Written by David Melville and directed by Leonora Pitts, the intimate world-premiere chamber musical explores censorship, courage, memory, and the transformative power of art, asking what survives when theatres disappear and stories themselves come under threat. The production runs through November 22, with performances Thursdays through Saturdays at 7:30PM and Sundays at 2:00PM.
