Elliott Hundley: Book of Sand

Los Angeles artist Elliott Hundley returns to Regen Projects with Book of Sand, continuing his densely layered approach to painting, collage, sculpture, and assemblage. Hundley is known for constructing elaborate surfaces from materials including paper, fabric, pins, wire, photographs, paint, and found elements, creating compositions that reveal new details the longer they are viewed.

The exhibition extends Hundley’s longstanding interest in fragmentation, narrative, and the unstable relationship between image and object, with richly built surfaces that move between abstraction and recognizable forms. The title echoes the sense of something potentially endless and difficult to fully grasp, making close looking central to the experience. Book of Sand remains on view through October 24, 2026.
