Garbage

November 5 @ 7:00 pm - 11:30 pm

Garbage was formed in Madison, Wisconsin, in 1993, by a supergroup of accomplished producers, including Butch Vig (who produced Nirvana’s Nevermind), Duke Erikson, and Steve Marker, who recruited Scottish singer Shirley Manson to be the frontwoman. Known for their consistent lineup since their inception, the band pioneered a distinctive sound that masterfully blends alternative rock and grunge elements with electronic textures, samples, and industrial production, which they dubbed their “remix sensibility.” Their self-titled 1995 debut album, featuring hits like “Only Happy When It Rains” and “Stupid Girl,” achieved multi-platinum success and established their unique style and Manson’s fierce, enigmatic persona. They cemented their status in the late 90s with their highly successful second album, Version 2.0, and by performing the theme song for the James Bond film The World Is Not Enough.
