The legendary bandleader is set for a high-energy two-night engagement on Friday, February 20, and Saturday, February 21, 2026, celebrating the release of his latest project, Live at the Belly Up Tavern.

For over four decades, Sanchez has been the standard-bearer for Latin jazz, blending Afro-Cuban rhythms with the soulful grit of American R&B. This new live album, his 31st recording, captures the fiery energy of his ensemble in peak form, featuring fresh arrangements of Latin standards and deep cuts from his storied catalog.

Born in Texas and raised in the heart of the Los Angeles soul scene, Sanchez’s music is a “fiery stew” influenced by mentors like Cal Tjader and Mongo Santamaría. Attendees can expect a setlist that traverses his immense career, likely including:
