Johnny Moezzi

Johnny Moezzi is an American singer-songwriter, guitarist, and producer, originally from Tehran, Iran, and now based in Los Angeles, known for his versatile musical style that artfully blurs the lines between vintage blues and modern alternative pop and soul. His musical passion was ignited early in life after sneaking into a B.B. King performance and receiving mentorship from a member of Ritchie Valens’ family, which solidified his foundation as a blues guitarist, a role he fulfilled as the bandleader and guitarist for the legendary blues singer Miss Mickey Champion. Moezzi channels this blues grounding into eclectic songwriting, aiming for the lyrical depth of artists like Bob Dylan while incorporating the funk and soul grooves of James Brown and Johnny “Guitar” Watson, a fusion evidenced across his discography, including his debut The Orange Album, and his 2023 EP, Funky Papu, which explores the infectious energy of his pop influences using bright synths and Casio keyboard beats.
