Matthew J. Prigge Discusses & Signs Dog’s Day
October 5 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Author Matthew J. Prigge discusses Dog’s Day: The True Story of a Bank Robbery, Gay Liberation, and Toxic Love That Inspired a Hollywood Classic, the stranger-than-fiction account behind the 1972 Brooklyn bank robbery later dramatized in Dog Day Afternoon. The book revisits the story of John Wojtowicz, whose failed heist became a national spectacle and exposed a complicated intersection of crime, queer identity, love, celebrity, and social change.
