Molly Miller Trio

The Molly Miller Trio is an acclaimed instrumental group from Los Angeles, led by guitarist, composer, and music educator Dr. Molly Miller, known for their sophisticated and genre-blending sound that fuses elements of jazz, Americana, blues, and pop. Dr. Miller, who serves as the Chair of the Guitar Department at the Los Angeles College of Music, anchors the trio with her distinctive, soulful, and highly melodic guitar playing, often using a hybrid-picking style to create music that prioritizes strong songwriting and phrasing over technical flash. Backed by a high-caliber rhythm section, which has featured veteran musicians like Jennifer Condos on bass and Jay Bellerose on drums, the trio has built a dedicated following and gained recognition for their tight, conversational interplay and dynamic soundscapes across albums like St. George and The Ballad of Hotspur, while Miller herself is also known for touring extensively as the lead guitarist for artists such as Jason Mraz.
