Conductor Gemma New leads the Los Angeles Philharmonic in an evening that moves from the exhilarating pulse of John Adams to the sweeping romanticism of Rachmaninoff. Pianist Jeneba Kanneh-Mason makes her Hollywood Bowl and LA Phil debuts with Rachmaninoff’s beloved Second Piano Concerto, bringing youthful artistry to one of the repertoire’s most emotionally rich works.

The program is framed by Adams’ exuberant Short Ride in a Fast Machine and Rachmaninoff’s spectacular Symphonic Dances, creating a night of rhythmic energy, lyrical beauty, and grand orchestral color beneath the Bowl’s open sky.
