Shlohmo
Shlohmo is an American musician, producer, and visual artist from Los Angeles widely recognized as a pivotal figure in the LA beat scene and a founder of the influential WEDIDIT Records collective. His unique and experimental production style fuses elements from far-ranging genres, including lo-fi abstract hip-hop, ambient music, shoegaze, doom metal, and dark R&B, creating a signature sound that is often described as melancholic, atmospheric, and highly textured, earning him a reputation as a leading lo-fi bedroom producer. Shlohmo’s work often evolves between projects: his critically acclaimed debut album, Bad Vibes (2011), established his lo-fi aesthetic; 2015’s Dark Red expanded his sound with heavier, distorted, and more industrial rock and metal tones; and 2019’s The End explored an apocalyptic, nihilistic soundscape. Beyond his solo albums, Shlohmo has gained significant commercial recognition for his production and remix work with mainstream artists, including Jeremih (on the acclaimed No More EP), Banks, Post Malone, and Joji.
