The artistic project “The Dying World: by Lauren Tsai” is a multi-disciplinary effort centering on the artist’s exploration of memory, escapism, and the convergence of fragmented realities, manifesting as both a major art exhibition and a short animated film. The immersive exhibition, hosted at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery in November 2025, features an ephemeral, dream-like installation built to house Tsai’s paintings, sculptures, and puppets, creating a tactile world surrounding her central character, Astrid. This character is also the focus of the animated film, The Dying World – Part One: Forgetting, a stop-motion short that follows Astrid as she navigates a fragmented existence split between a sterile office environment and a desolate blue realm of forgotten objects, a project which has already earned Official Selection status at major international film festivals.
