Rogue Artists Ensemble and Greenway Arts Alliance present the world premiere of Shells, an absurdist dark comedy about coping with the farce and devastation of gun violence. After an unexpected encounter with a violent neighbor leaves Evvy wounded, she tries to return to ordinary life—but the world around her may never feel normal again. Inspired by playwright Amy Judd Lieberman’s own experience surviving an unprovoked shooting, the production uses puppetry, physical humor, and surreal theatricality to explore trauma, fear, and the strange ways people keep moving forward after violence.

Directed by Stephanie O’Neill, the show balances its serious subject with a deliberately playful and absurdist approach, allowing humor and imagination to coexist with the reality of what inspired it. Shells runs through October 11, 2026.
