AMERICAN CINEMATHEQUE  BEYOND FEST 2026  through October 5

American Cinematheque presents Henri-Georges Clouzot’s Diabolique, the landmark 1955 psychological thriller that helped redefine suspense cinema with its icy atmosphere, moral ambiguity, and mounting sense of dread. Centered on two women who conspire to murder a cruel man, the film steadily transforms crime drama into something far more unsettling, building toward one of classic cinema’s most famous shocks.

Presented as part of Beyond Fest 2026 and the Cinematheque’s Sunday Print Edition, the screening includes an introduction by filmmaker Fede Álvarez.
