Based on the 1999 cult-classic film created by Darren Stein, who also writes the book for the stage adaptation, Jawbreaker The Musical reimagines the darkly comic story of popularity, status, and teenage power as a high-energy theatrical event. Set in the ruthless social world of Reagan High, the musical follows a clique of teenage girls whose grip on the school begins to unravel after their pursuit of power takes a deadly turn.

Fueled by the energy of a pop concert and sharpened by biting humor, the show explores the intoxicating—and dangerous—nature of power, identity, survival, and social status. Presented as a strictly limited workshop engagement at Hudson Backstage Theatre, Jawbreaker The Musical offers a bold new stage interpretation of the film’s cult-favorite world.
