Wonderful writing job!

I found this production to be one of the best shows from Write Act Repertory. It was beautiful to see all the seats taken upon arrival.
Write of Spring (2025) is a collection of 6 World Premiere tales of one-act plays surrounding the theme of ART, brought to life by 7 writers, 7 directors, and 17 actors. All six stories are in pursuit of perfection in expressing art.

The first (The Other Paintings in the Room With The Mona Lisa) touches upon three of the paintings in the same room as Mona Lisa who came to life and talked. They express jealousy and envy, just as people do in life, because they can’t understand why Mona Lisa gets so much attention. They consider themselves as beautiful as she is.

The second story (The Customs Officer’s Beautiful Dream)—the struggling artist reunites with his dead muse in a dream. Interesting masks and expressions of passion.

The third story (Hanami Festival)—a mother and a daughter journey to Japan for the Hanami Festival where they are forever changed by the myth of the cherry blossom trees. The island of Japan is beautifully presented with Japanese costumes and umbrellas, dance and rituals.

The fourth story (Musings) gives us two smug art fans who think each one is better than the other, but they discover they’re more similar than they originally thought.

The fifth story (The Eye) takes us to visit a piece of art on display by a student accompanied by his teacher. They discover that something is amiss in the painting.

The sixth story (Aftertaste), inspired by Salvador Dalí’s The Persistence of Memory, shows the first date which melts into a fiasco.

All the acts are beautifully directed by Kyle Blumenthal, Carla Cackowski, Susan Eiden, Mitch Metivier, Anne Mesa, Jorge A. Pulido, and Darrin Yalacki.
Each of the stories is alive, real, and truly enjoyable to watch. Great costumes and scenic design. Beautiful music. It is a fun show to see.

The talented cast of 17 actors:
Erika Godwin, Veli Gonzalez, Justin Gubersky, Jude Jones, Gwendolyn Joyce, Lillian Kamm, Jennifer Kenyon, Tony Kim, Adam Kroksh, Gemma Kyle, Paige Laviolette, Jack Lechich, Helena Maggiore, Naledi Miga, Patrick PL Ip, Margo Rowder, and Helen Wu.
