Under the producing artistic leadership of John Lant (an award-winning producer and director of over 350 plays in LA and NYC), and Write Act Repertory, a world premiere of another fun production of Hot Sumer Nights – The Musicals (2026) had its opening.

A Collection of Five World Premiere One-Act Musicals with various titles and subjects, at the Brickhouse Theatre with super simple repetitive music scores is presented. With some fine performances, the show is presented with a great deal of enthusiasm, creativity, and determination. With the excellent projection on the back wall, blending beautifully with the images into the frame of the scenes, this production is very original and unique. This astonishing new musical exploration is created by six writers, six directors and seventeen actors. The Brickhouse Theatre has improved so much since I first saw their production around three years ago. The music between the acts was very uplifting and appreciated.

By featuring the five acts, ANOTHER TIME, written & directed by Darrin Yalacki, A HOT MESS written by Helema Maggiore, composed by Helena Maggiore & Alvin Smith, and directed by Tiffani Ann Mills, EMBRACE THE CRINGE, written & directed by Dmitry Parkhomchuk with Gleb Bubnov as a composer, REAL ID, written & directed by Chris McGriff and THE DISAPPEARANCE OF NORMAN CRABBE, written by Susan C. Hunter and Tom Shelton and directed by Susan C. Hunter, 17 actors are exciting to watch; Olive Banny, Maggie Borgen, Eric V Crumley, Jeron Devonte, Isa Fuller, Joshua Gill, Christina Giordano, Cate Harbin, Christine Hughes, Ann Li, Alyssa Lomosad, Naledi Miga, Linda Nile, Gilad Nilo, Teni Dunton, Jack Sweeney and Anthony Zermeno.

‘Write Act Repertory in its 26th season is an artist-based organization with over one hundred volunteers whose members include producers, writers, actors, directors, designers, technical crew and personnel. It specializes and is dedicated to the development of original plays, lesser-known by established writers, adaptations of classical-themed materials and musicals. Write Act Rep also produces rarely seen works and works in co-ops with other theater companies to produce and fiscally sponsor like-minded missions.’
